Support HRC

Please donate to the Humane Research Council today!

HRC is a different kind of animal advocacy organization -- we exist to help other animal advocates be more effective. As a nonprofit with a modest budget and a staff of only two people, HRC accomplishes a lot with very little.

With your donation, HRC will have more opportunity to spend our time creating centralized resources and providing pro bono services to smaller organizations through programs like our Grassroots Research Fund.

Please donate today to help HRC achieve our mission of empowering animal advocates with access to the information they need to maximize their effectiveness to reducing animal suffering.

Financial Support

Your contribution to HRC will help increase the effectiveness of the entire animal protection movement. How? Through our free resources like, independent studies like the Animal Tracker and Humane Trends, and our discounted services, HRC is making research accessible and meaningful for animal advocates. This allows them to cost-effectively improve their campaigns and measure their impact using a wide range of research methods. And without measuring impact, there is simply no way to know if they are making a real difference.

Please go here to visit our secure online donation form. Recurring donations are especially appreciated so that we can plan ahead for future research and resources for advocates.

Note: HRC is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Monetary contributions and some donated services are deductible to the full extent of U.S. tax law. We also accept donations of stock, bequests, and vehicle donations. Please contact us if interested.

Professional Support

HRC often seeks contributions of time and expertise from research, marketing, technical, and communications professionals, as well as business service providers (accountants, lawyers, etc.) and designers for print and online media. Perhaps more than financial support, HRC's primary barrier to more effectively helping animal advocates is simply having sufficient time. If you have the skills and a desire to improve the lives of animals, please contact us today.

HRC currently has several volunteer positions we would like to fill with experienced people who are committed to animal protection. Please contact us to discuss details.

  • Experts in web design to assist with planning for our new research website
  • Social media mavens with a knack for distilling research into interesting tidbits
  • A student liaison to formalize our intern program for grad and undergrad students
  • Grant writer to research foundations and help write LOIs, proposals
  • Graphic designers to create images for print and online media
  • Statistician to mine existing data and advise on new projects
